Miðstöð framhaldsnáms og Kennslumiðstöð HÍ standa fyrir námskeiði fyrir leiðbeinendur doktorsnemenda 24. maí frá kl. 9 – 16.

Á námskeiðinu verður m.a. fjallað um Reglur HÍ um doktorsnám og Viðmið og kröfur HÍ um gæði doktorsnáms. Starfsemi Miðstöðvar framhaldsnáms verður kynnt og reyndur leiðbeinandi úr HÍ mun miðla af reynslu sinni. Sérstakur gestur verður Robert Harris frá Karonlinska Institutet en hann mun m.a. fjalla um hlutverk leiðbeinenda og samskipti leiðbeinenda og doktorsnema. Nánari dagskrá síðar.

Course for supervisors of doctoral students at the School of Health Sciences

The Graduate School and the Centre for Teaching and Learning are offering a course for supervisors of doctoral students on 24 May, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The course will be held in room HT-300 and registration is open on the Centre for Teaching and Learning website.

In accordance with the ORPHEUS requirements for doctoral studies at the University of Iceland School of Health Sciences, a course will be offered for supervisors of doctoral students at the School. The University of Iceland places a strong emphasis on high quality doctoral studies and aims to offer this course to all supervisors at the University in the future.

The course will cover topics such as University of Iceland rules regarding doctoral studies, and criteria and requirements for the quality of doctoral studies. It will include an introduction to the work of the Graduate School and an experienced supervisor at the University of Iceland will share his/her [delete as applicable depending on who the supervisor in question is] experiences. Professor Robert Harris from Karolinska Institutet, President of ORPHEUS, will be a special guest. He will discuss the role and responsibilities of supervisors, different methods in student supervision, and communication between supervisor and doctoral student.
